The Master of Arts (MA) in Special Education is designed for educators, related professionals, and qualified individuals interested in deepening their knowledge and research in special education practices and services. The program focuses on:
Global Trends: Exploring current issues and emerging trends in special education with a strong emphasis on social justice and ethical themes at various levels.
Theory & Research: Emphasizing developmentally oriented theory and research in cognitive and socio-emotional development.
Evidence-Based Practices: Using knowledge to design and implement evidence-based interventions and instructional practices to enhance learning.
Collaboration & Advocacy: Promoting collaboration and advocacy to improve the quality of life for individuals with disabilities.
Inclusive Learning: Supporting integrated and inclusive learning experiences for all children and youth.
Students can choose between:
Specialized Approaches: Tailoring their study to all types of exceptional learners or
Concentrated Learning: Specializing in areas such as applied behavior analysis, mild/moderate disabilities, or other unique areas of study.
