Webster Universityโ€™s Sargent Conservatory of Theatre Arts nurtures the next generation of theatre professionals. Our program is dedicated to training visionary, creative, and leadership-oriented artists, preparing them to excel in the dynamic world of theatre. ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŽฌ

By the end of their training, students will be able to:

  1. ๐ŸŽญ Contextualize Theatre: Describe the cultural and historical context of theatrical practice.
  2. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Develop Skills: Hone analytical, research, organizational, and technical skills for creating and performing theatre.
  3. ๐ŸŽจ Perform Creatively: Apply these skills to produce and perform theatre in various styles with creativity and competence.
  4. ๐Ÿค Lead and Collaborate: Model effective leadership, clear communication, and collaboration in their work.
  5. ๐ŸŒ Promote Equity: Assess power dynamics and biases within the arts and society, and work to promote equity and justice through their theatre work.

  • ๐Ÿ“š Grade Requirement: Only courses completed with a grade of C- or above will count toward fulfilling the major requirements.
  • ๐ŸŽค Auditions/Interviews: Required for all students planning to major in theatre. These are held each spring for entrance into the following fall semester.

  • ๐Ÿ“š Required Credit Hours: 99
  • ๐ŸŒ Global Citizenship Program: Applicable hours, with accommodations for theatre BFAs
