The BS in Psychological Science provides a comprehensive understanding of behavior across the lifespan by exploring biological, cognitive, personality, and social contexts. ๐ŸŽ“ Students will gain foundational knowledge, research skills, and data analysis expertise necessary for advanced studies in psychology, such as MA/PhD programs in clinical or experimental psychology.

๐Ÿš€ Note: To obtain professional licensure, further graduate education is required. Students should review the entrance requirements for post-graduate programs to ensure they meet any additional coursework needs before completing their BS at Webster.

Upon completion of the program, students will be able to:

  • Required Credit Hours: 59 credit hours in psychological science courses. ๐Ÿ“š
  • Global Citizenship Program: Applicable University Global Citizenship Program hours, with accommodations for the BS in Psychological Science. ๐ŸŒ
  • Electives: Additional elective hours as needed. โœจ

  • Grade Requirement: Courses must be completed with a grade of C- or higher to count toward the major. ๐Ÿ“
  • Electives: Out of the 9 credit hours of psychology electives, at least 3 credit hours must be at the 4000-level. ๐ŸŽ“
  • Credit Limits: No more than 6 credit hours from senior thesis, practica, independent learning experiences, reading courses, directed study, and assessment of prior learning can count toward the 59 credit hours required for the major. However, these credits may still count toward overall degree requirements. ๐Ÿ“–
  • Transfer Credits: Up to 18 credit hours of approved PSYC coursework from other universities can be applied toward the psychological science major. ๐ŸŒ
  • Substitutions: Higher-level composition, math, or biology courses can substitute for non-psychology supporting core curriculum requirements, subject to confirmation with the psychology department. Transfer credits for these requirements are also allowed. ๐Ÿ”„
