The Bachelor of Music in Performance with a Piano Emphasis is a pre-professional degree designed for students aspiring to become professional performers or studio teachers. This program focuses on developing advanced skills in piano performance, whether as a soloist, ensemble player, or collaborator.
Program Highlights:
Performance Focus: Prepare for a career in orchestras, chamber music, solo performance, or as an accompanist.
Recitals and Ensembles: Engage in solo recitals, participate in chamber music, and serve as an accompanist for vocalists and instrumentalists.
University Concerts: Perform in University-sponsored ensemble concerts, including choral performances, musical theatre, and Opera Studio.
Accompanying Requirement: Spend at least one hour per week accompanying vocalists and/or instrumentalists, starting from the sophomore year or earlier. Student Recitals: Perform in student recitals at least twice every semester.By the end of the program, students will:
