Development Planning Unit MPhil/PhD

Our MPhil/PhD programme is partially taught in the first year, during which new MPhils will attend weekly MPhil seminars, as well as enrol in DPU MSc modules, all designed to strengthen the student’s PhD work and eventual thesis, as well as assist in acclimating to the DPU research environment.

The programme is designed to be three years, with a 4th year of CRS (Completing Research Studies).

Students will generally upgrade from MPhil to PhD early in the second year, after which a period of Study Leave (research fieldwork) can commence.
