Upon completing their training at the Sargent Conservatory, students will be able to:

  1. Cultural and Historical Context: Describe the cultural and historical context of theatrical practice. 🎭📚
  2. Analytical and Technical Skills: Hone strong analytical, research, organizational, and technical skills essential for creating and performing theatre. 🛠️🎨
  3. Application of Skills: Apply these skills to diverse theatrical productions with creativity and competence. 🎬🌟
  4. Leadership and Collaboration: Demonstrate positive leadership, effective communication, and collaboration in team settings. 🤝🗣️
  5. Equity and Justice: Assess and address power dynamics and biases within the arts and society, promoting equity and justice through both classwork and production. ⚖️🎭

  • Grade Requirements: Only courses completed with a grade of C- or above will count toward fulfilling the specific requirements of the major. 📚✅
  • Auditions/Interviews: All students planning to major in theatre at Webster University must complete an audition or interview. These are held each spring for entrance into the following fall session. 🎭🎤

  • Required Credit Hours: 99 credit hours
  • Global Citizenship Program: Applicable University Global Citizenship Program hours, with accommodations for theatre BFAs 🌍🎓
