MA Program in New Media Production

The master of arts (MA) in New Media Production is for students seeking a mastery of story telling skills in a multi-platform digital communication environment. Program Description:

The master of arts (MA) in new media production is for students seeking a mastery of storytelling skills in a multi-platform digital communication environment. This degree is designed to sharpen the production skills students already have and introduce students to a variety of additional skill sets to advance in a multi-platform media landscape that demands proficiency and knowledge of production in various forms of media.In the current dynamic media environment, the demand is for practitioners who are able to produce content on various digital platforms using the latest equipment and methods. This degree is designed to teach students how to succeed in that changing media environment and to give them the production skills necessary to communicate stories with impact.

Students may substitute appropriate 4000-level courses for electives in this program with the approval of the student’s advisor and the director of Graduate Studies for the School of Communications.

All students entering this program are required to consult with an academic advisor to create a program plan to chart progress through the curriculum in this degree program.

The required and elective courses listed may be taken as directed studies, subject to the conditions stated in the Directed Studies section listed under Academic Policies and Procedures and approved by the director of Graduate Studies and the dean of the School of Communications.
